Dogs Inn is proudly owned and operated by Shane Boyer, a lifelong animal lover with deep roots in professional dog care. What began as a passion shaped by family and experience has grown into a trusted, community-focused business dedicated to providing safe, enriching, and dependable care for every dog who walks through our doors.

Shane grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where his family owned and operated a dog daycare and a kennel specializing in raising and training German Shorthaired Pointers. From an early age, he learned what it takes to care for dogs properly—balancing structure, safety, enrichment, and genuine affection. That foundation continues to guide everything we do at Dogs Inn today.

After moving to Ankeny in 2016, Shane began building his life with his wife, Abi, alongside their two German Shorthaired Pointers, Finn and Grace. In 2022, Shane stepped into managing business operations for his parents’ dog daycare, further strengthening his leadership experience and understanding of what it takes to run a successful, high-quality pet care facility.

After more than three years of searching, in 2025 they found Dogs Inn, and it was the perfect fit—a family-run business with a strong reputation, loyal customers, and shared values. Today, Dogs Inn continues to offer trusted daycare, comfortable boarding, and professional grooming, all with a focus on your dog’s well-being, safety, and happiness.
